Tournament of Chivalry
June 26th-27th, 2004
Canton of Elvegast

Return to the Age of Chivalry when tournaments provided opportunity to demonstrate martial prowess and gain renown. The Canton of Elvegast invites you to attend the first Atlantian Tournament of Chivalry, June 26, 2004 in Sanford, North Carolina.

The highlight of the day will be a heavy weapons tournament in which Atlantia.s Knights will stand against open challenges from single or groups of unbelted fighters in a variety of weapons forms. No points will be kept, but at the end of the day, Her Majesty and Her Highness and Their Ladies will consult with the Atlantian Chivalry and award prizes for valor and prowess.

To add to the atmosphere of the day, participants in the tournament are encouraged to participate in the arts and sciences competitions but non-combatants are welcome to enter as well. Competitions will include the following categories: Armor, Heraldic Garb, Field Presence (to include household, banners, pavilion) and collapsible camp furniture in a medieval style.

A bag lunch will be available for purchase.

A feast featuring French foods of the period will be prepared by the staff of Tariq ibn Khalil and mentored by Master John le Burguillun.
